Shine Thy Light Red Carpet Affair

We had the privilege of working with Begin the Transformation providing Partial Planning Services. Begin the Transformation is non-profit organization dedicated to eradicating teenage pregnancy, through education, spiritual and community support. This event took place at The Grand Chalet in Wayne, NJ. 

This event brought together teen parents and former teen parents who are prominent members of our community and who have transformed their lives by weathering the storm of adversity to becoming successful men and women in our society. 

Dr. Monica Burton of the East Orange School District gave the Keynote Address. She shared her story of how life was as a teen mother and how she overcame many obstacles to become who she is today.

George Darby, a former teen parent also had the opportunity to share his story as a teen father.

Both Burton and Darby received the Transformation Award given by Begin the Transformation, Inc. for their life accomplishments and service to the community.

It was a great evening of food, fellowship, inspiration, dancing and AWESOME raffle prizes!

"8 Steps to a New You" Book Launch Social

In April we had the opportunity to provide partial coordination for the Book Launch Social of Mellisa Brathwaite's, "8 Steps to a New You." This event was held at Mandeville, a Caribbean Cuisine Restaurant in Orange, NJ. The Author had a great turn out of family and friends.

Attendees had the opportunity to purchase hardcover or softcover copies of the book. They were sold out before the end of the night. 

The "8 Steps" were used as both a centerpiece and giveaway.

This workbook was the result of a workshop she did in the community. She had two students from the workshop give their testimony of how her workshop changed their life. VERY INSPIRATIONAL!

Midnight Masquerade

In November, Ellen's House hosted a Midnight Masquerade Ball at the Ramada Conference Center in East Hanover, NJ. DJ Patrick St. Clair was the Master of Ceremonies and DJ for the evening. The Keynote Speaker for the Ball was Councilman Ted R. Green of East Orange, NJ. With the help of many local donors, this event was a great success!
